Walking around the empty tables, I can almost hear the chairs scraping along the floor as chattering patrons get up to leave. Conversations continue long enough to conclude in mid air. And then they are gone.
A scene like this is powerful, easily twigging my imagination and then memory.

Sparkling
The cork is popped and the champagne poured. The bubbles rise up and over the edge of the glass, sparkling and fizzing all the way. It is time to celebrate spring!
In my photography, I love to let my imagination go and see where it takes me. Ordinary tree seeds caught in foliage turn into something magical and celebratory.
I used my 60 mm macro lens to capture these tiny seeds. Using a texture and shading layer, I enhanced the image, adding a little more magic to this glass of bubbly.

Garden Dreamer
Her eyes grew heavy. No longer able to keep them open she lay her head down in the garden and drifted into another land...

Boots
I did not use any photo layering.
These boots were captured as they were.
Using reflection to create an image all on its own can be a great deal of fun and makes for an unusual if not interesting photo.
These boots were sitting on a hardwood floor. I noticed the reflection and began to play. What I ended up with was this image.
Reflection has a way of freeing the imagination to wonder.

Outside In
Walking by the Manitoba Theatre for Young People at The Forks in Winnipeg, this window's reflection caught my eye. The sky was most certainly inside this theatre!
The sky showing through the window seemed just right with all the potential and promise packed into this venue.
Take the time to gaze into the windows as you carry on with your day today. What do you see? Look again. Look closer. Imagine.

Imagine
Imagine the possibilities and promise in this day and beyond. Allow your heart to hope in what is true and sure and also unseen. There is more than what we see. The sky is not the limit. My friends, there is so much more.
This is a picture I took using a zoom effect in camera and also layering in processing. Both lend themselves to imagination and invite us to consider the possibilities and promise we do not see.

What Was
The light is just right. Shining in and through this olive oil bottle, it highlights the dust that sticks to the inside of the glass. Some may have done their best to clean the bottle before the camera came out but that can wipe away the reminder of what was.
The oil in this bottle was used up. We can imagine all the different ways, including the sounds of chopping and dicing, sizzling and boiling. We can hear the laughter or maybe loneliness that may have surrounded this bottle. The dust shows time has passed and invites us to remember or imagine what was.

Touch
Her cane enters first, then she. Already cloudy eyes begin to fill with memories. She crosses the room then stops.
A single tear finds it first. Gnarled and knotted, her finger slowly follows to wipe the drop then pulls back suddenly. Eyes now closed, she remembers it all.
The use of creative processing in my images, sometimes subtle, occasionally dramatic, allows me to go further with inspiration into imagination than I would otherwise. Even now, as I look at this image, my wonderings go further into the imaginary woman's life, remembering along with her the grand performances with nimble fingers and amazing skills. How I wish to have known her.

Spotlight - Icy Bloom
Yeah, I know. Nobody wants to see winter pictures right now. Here's what I see. I see a sunflower bursting free of the norm into a metallic marvel. Until the real blooms show themselves, I will be content to see the bloom elsewhere. I walked through beautiful gardens this morning.
