Though at times they are thought of as flying rodents, I maintain that these geese are beautiful in appearance and community. I love how they gather each autumn to journey together.

Sometimes we cannot get the crop of the photo we want in camera. There is no shame in going in with the scissors in processing! Both of these images were much better presented once their ratio was changed. Knowing this is available to me, I shoot with the crop in mind and finish the composition on my computer.

Both images were shot at the same settings. I used f/5.6 with a shutter speed of 1/200. ISO? You guessed it...100.

Caramel Sunrise

I can hardly contain myself when I see sights like this golden sunrise coating the fields with a caramel topping. Each morning, the light seems unique to the day. The morning of this shot was no exception. When I am late to the day, I wonder what I missed.

True Colours

Today feels like autumn, as I guess it should, seeing as it has been autumn for weeks now. Here in the prairies we've been blessed with above normal temperatures for the summer and well into these first weeks of fall. Only now are we beginning to feel the chill in the air. I thought it would all seem so sudden, once autumn really showed her true colours, but it doesn't feel sudden at all. It just feels normal, like it is simply time to get on with the season we are in.
