Bridges

It is better to build bridges than barricades. What is interesting to me is that access from one side of the river to the other is still limited, but open nonetheless. If you want to cross to the other side, you might have to walk a ways to get to the bridge.

When using this as an analogy in relationships, mostly it is true. A bridge, first of all, needs to be built. Good framework is necessary. Once in place, a bridge permits access from one side of the river to the other. An intentional walk to the bridge is necessary to take the steps to get to the other side, the other point of view. Effort is required and the reward is a meeting together of minds and maybe spirits too.

I framed this image using the shadows and trees surrounding the bridges. Adding a texture layer with corner shadings enhanced the framing of the composition and helped to keep the viewer's eye on the subject, the bridges and their framework.

Cherished

Cradled in the leaves, held so carefully and gently, the petals continue to give to the end of their days. So beautiful, so tender, so cherished. This makes me want to be better, to be more gentle and tender with those around me, to do what I can to show them they are loved.
