Gentle Snow

The gentleness of this snowfall is shown beautifully through my 75-300 mm lens. With the aperture set at f/5.6 there is a lovely blur in the foreground and background, further softening the scene. I shot at a speed of 1/160.

Allowing the posts to run through much of the image, from foreground to background, brings a sense of longevity...no hurry. For the foreseeable future, this is as it is, a winter wonderland.

Like soldiers all in a row, the iron spears stand guard. Regal and strong, they are unified in purpose. Their presence hints at another. I wonder...

Autumn's Boots

The day's work is done. The boots are left on the mat outside, the garden still holding tight to the tread. Leaves blow in and settle, creating a new landscape, at least until the next shake of the snow-globe.

Latched

The latch is closed. Safe and sound...or separate? There is a time to retreat, refresh. But at some point, there is a time to open the latch, push the gate open wide and see what there is to see on the other side. What is on the other side of your gate?
