1st Winnipeg Timeraiser

This week Friday will be Winnipeg's 1st Timeraiser event at the West End Cultural Centre. Throughout the evening, meet with different agencies and match your skills to their needs. Once you have made your matches, you are eligible to bid on artwork. The big twist is rather than bid money, you bid volunteer hours.

If you have the winning bid, you have 12 months to complete your pledge before bringing the artwork home as a reminder of your goodwill.

Agencies:
Sarasvati Productions, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Downtown Biz, Habitat for Humanity, L'Arche, Canada Youth Business Foundation of MB, Frontier College, Junior Achievement of Manitoba, NEEDS Centre, Canadian Cancer Society, Deer Lodge Centre, Heart and Stroke Foundation, World Vision, Acceuil Francophone, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Winnipeg, Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Immigrant Centre, Meals on Wheels, West Broadway Youth Outreach, Winnipeg Harvest, Wolseley Family Place, YMCA/YWCA, Special Olympics.

Go here to purchase tickets ($20.00 each) and see some of the artwork that will be available (one of the pieces is mine: Road Less Travelled).

7:00 p.m. Doors Open
7:30 p.m. Volunteer matching begins
8:30 p.m. Silent Art Auction begins.
9:30 p.m. Silent Art Auction ends.
10:00 p.m. Hours are announced and Blasphemers take the stage.

In addition to seeing amazing art you will have the chance to win WestJet Vouchers for anywhere WestJet flies (using Twitter or Cover It Live on a Smart Phone).
